Stuck or Frozen in Guided Access and Unable to Exit Guided access

If the app is updated while in guided access, itwill cause the device to become unresponsive.

This has been reported to Apple.
You can also report to apple as the TD Snap app is not the only app that is affected.

To prevent this from happening, it is suggested to not update while in guided access if your app was purchased from Apple App store.  You can turn off automatic updates in the iPadOS. Settings>Apps/App Store - App updates- Turn off automatically.

If your App is managed by Tobii Dynavox MDM, this cannot be turned off. If your device becomes frozen, please follow these options.

For Tobii Dynavox Specific devices.

If you have a mini speech case, you will need to remove it from the case in order to do the force restart. You will need a small Phillips head screwdriver.

How to Reset the TD Speech Case Mini:

 

Removing the iPad from the SC Tablet Mini

  1. Place the SC Tablet Mini with the face down on a flat surface.
  2. Lift the foldable leg and loosen the two Phillips screws behind the leg

  1. Loosen the two top Phillips screws.

  1. Separate the SC Tablet Mini front plate and body by pulling the two pieces apart.

  1. Remove the iPad Mini.


 How to Reset the iPad Mini:

  1. Quick Press and Release of the Volume Up Button (Nearest to the Power Button).
  2. Quick Press and release of the Volume Down Button (Farthest from the Power Button).
  3. Press and HOLD the power button. Wait for the Apple Logo to appear on the screen before releasing the power button.

 

How to Reset the TD Navio Midi and Maxi

  1. Quick Press and release of the Reset button 1 with one hole (4). 
  2. Quick Press and release of the Reset button 2 with two holes (5).
  3. Press and HOLD the power button. Wait for the Apple Logo to appear on the screen before releasing the power button.

 

How to Reset the TD Navio Mini:

 

 

  1. Quick Press and release of the Reset Button 1 (Top Button) (3).
  2. Quick Press and release of the Reset Button 2 (Bottom Button) (4).
  3. Press and HOLD the power button. Wait for the Apple Logo to appear on the screen before releasing the power button.

 

If you are not able to reset your Tobii Dynavox Managed Device. Call technical support 1-800-344-1778. They can send a reset to the device via our management software. It would need to be connected to Wi-Fi and connect to the MDM system.
