Does Tobii Dynavox Still support Windows 10 Pro on my AAC device?

Support for Windows 10 Pro is coming to an end 

Microsoft will begin its end of support for Windows 10 Pro on October 14, 2025. This means that after this date, Microsoft will no longer release new features and security updates for this edition. However, Tobii Dynavox will continue to support any affected Tobii Dynavox devices through their end of service and support date. Windows 10 Pro will continue to be licensed and function as normal on Tobii Dynavox devices even after the end of support date. 

  

How can I tell which version of Windows I have?   

In your Windows search box, type in “winver” and hit enter. A pop up will appear with information on which version of Windows you have. 

  

Which devices are affected? 

 

  • I-Series (I-13/I-16): As of May 4th, 2023, the I-Series was replaced with the updated TD I-Series (TD I-13 or TD I-16).  The majority of I-13/I-16 devices were shipped with Windows 10 iOT LTSC (which includes Microsoft support through October 2032).  If you have an I-13/I-16 that still has Windows 10 Pro and would like to switch to Windows 10 iOT, LTSC, please contact Technical Support. 
  • EM12 (Surface Pro 7/7+): EM-12 has not been available for sale since February 18, 2023, however these devices should have the option to run the Win 11 update through Windows. If you need assistance, please contact Technical Support. 
  • EM12 (Surface Pro 5/6): EM-12  has not been available for sale since February 28, 2023. 
  • TD I-110 (serial number starting with TD110-xx...): The majority of TD I-110 devices were shipped with Windows 11.  If you have a TD I-110 that still has Win10 Pro and would like to switch to Windows 11, please contact Technical Support. 
  • I-110 (serial number starting with TDG10-xxx...): I-110 has not been available for sale since March 23, 2022. 
  • Indi and Indi 7:  Indi has not been available for sale since January 15, 2021. Indi 7 has not been available for sale since May 31, 2021. 
  • I-Series+ (I-12+/I-15+):  I-Series+ has not been available for sale since November 13, 2019, and Global End of Service and Support occurred on December 13, 2024. 

 

Once a Tobii Dynavox device is no longer available for sale, we are committed to supporting the device for an additional 5 years before a Global End of Service and Support. 

 

What impact will this have on those that currently use one of the affected devices listed above? 

In the case of a repair, Tobii Dynavox will have to install Windows 10 Pro with the image we have access to. It could also mean that future updates to Tobii Dynavox software might require software updates that are no longer available for Windows 10 Pro. Tobii Dynavox will only be able to run limited tests for Windows 10 Pro compatibility for future Tobii Dynavox updates. 

  

Can I update my affected device to Windows 11 on my own? 
The affected devices have been tested and certified to run with Windows 10 Pro. Unfortunately, the hardware is not compatible with Windows 11.  Tobii Dynavox does not offer support for installing different operating systems and in the case of a repair, would have to redeploy all units originally shipped with Windows 10 Pro back to the default.  Additionally, we are unable to support any issues that arise related to a possible update.
